Insights from the latest consumer cybersecurity survey report
Consumers are more concerned than ever about cybercrime hitting their mobile devices. Although they know what they want in a cybersecurity protection solution - simplicity, affordability and a trusted partner - they are not finding it with 3rd party security vendors.
In this report, we discuss a recent survey of more than 3,000 consumers worldwide, conducted in partnership with Dynata, which examined the consumers’ attitudes toward cybersecurity and the actions they are taking (or not taking) to protect themselves, their devices and their data.
The survey revealed that consumers are more aware of the threat of cybercrime yet, for the most part, do not act to protect themselves from the threat. This gap between awareness and action can translate into a bonanza for telcos who are willing to offer network-native cybersecurity services to their consumer customers.
Highlights from the survey:
- 47% of consumers are more likely to buy a solution that does not require app installation
- 84% trust their mobile provider to deliver such a solution
- Consumers across the board are willing to spend around $5/€5/£5 per month on cybersecurity protection
- 67% said they would be willing to pay their mobile service provider a monthly fee for cybersecurity protection
